Unique Wedding Theme: Vineyard

If you are looking for something different, something that will stand out in your guests minds that both you and them will remember forever; choose a wedding theme such as a vineyard. It is a wonderful place for a wedding and can take place either at a vineyard or at practically any other venue. Here are a few ideas that will help you create a wonderfully elegant wedding with a vineyard theme.

Of course the easiest location to have a vineyard themed wedding is at a vineyard. You can choose either an area with a smaller local winery, or go all out and travel to the famous Napa Valley which is in California. Though, you do not have to travel to California to obtain the picturesque location that you are dreaming off; there are several gorgeous vineyards a lot closer to you that may be a little smaller but still have the same atmosphere and scenery. Of course if you cannot have your reception or ceremony at an actual vineyard, do not worry. It is simple to create the vineyard themed wedding you want with a tent, restaurant, hotel or even a country club.

One way to help establish the wedding’s theme is to choose the right decorations. To bring a winery feel to your wedding add several natural touches such as a grapevine, grapes, and flowers. Use grapevines by twisting them around the arbor then adding twinkling lights (especially if your wedding is outside). Your color scheme can include deep purple, terra cotta, burgundy, and/ or green. You can also use the grapevines to make a wreath to hang on the doors. While weaving the wreaths, use a strand of ribbon in your color scheme to add a little something earthy to the elegant wedding.

To make your centerpieces for your vineyard wedding, try not to take the easy way out and just use a cluster of grapes. If you do choose to go this route, make sure to use real grapes because fake fruit is one thing you need to stay away from if at all possible. You can also add other edible pieces to help created a lush centerpiece that guests can even nibble on. Some fruits that would be nice to include are artichokes and pears. Use long tables, like family style, and add a slightly roughed up piece of silk or burlap as your tablecloth. Since the fruit centerpieces are fairly short, be sure to add some tall candles. Use ivory pillar candles in lanterns or in iron candlestick holders. Put an abundance of fresh earthy shade flowers such as burgundy, deep purple, or terra cotta underneath the candles.

Any that looks rustic and timeless is perfect for a vineyard themed wedding, and that includes the bridal gown. Go for both elegant and rustic. This could be any combination of silk dupioni with a rough texture, an organza dress with the edges torn in an artistic way, a laced gown, or anything that will go with a summer wedding. Embellishments like ruffles, pleating, draping, and/or ruching is ideal. Coin pearl jewelry would be a nice touch.

One of the most important part, at least to guests, when thinking about the success of a wedding is the food. The food for a vineyard style wedding needs to be fresh. The menu could include pumpkin ravioli, fresh squash soup, sauteed mushrooms, rustic bread, and lots of herbs and spices are a wonderful choice for this wedding style. Of course wine is to be served. During the cocktail hour, you can mix things up a little bit by adding a wine sampling area. To enhance the wines flavor, serve artisan cheeses and fruit such as apricots, grapes, and figs. Everyone will love the unique change and adore the experience. Your wedding cake can be traditional or have a rich flavor like chocolate or red velvet. You can use sugar grapes to decorate it and complete the vineyard theme.

A great wedding favor to suit your theme is a small personalized bottle of wine, a fancy corkscrew, or a pewter bottle stopper would be perfect. It is sure to be a wedding to remember.
